So far, the MTC has been exhausting in every sense of the
word, but I have been having a good experience. (Mom, you weren't even kidding about
the food here, there are doughnuts and pie and all sorts of sugar at every
meal. So far I haven't partaken - I tried to but ended up with a Reese's pie-
but I might get the occasional sweet.) It sounds like my P day will be on
Saturdays, but that starts next weekend. I'm not sure if I will get to send you
another email this Saturday. I'm excited for conference this weekend, It sounds
like it will be amazing. And no, I do not have to watch it in German.
My companion is Elder Rosborough, and he is from right here
in small town Provo, Utah. He's a little quiet, but he seems kind and fairly
organized. He's feeling pretty homesick, but I'll do my best to help him.
My district has six members. Elder Seamons, Elder Huckabay,
and myself are going to the Berlin mission. Elder Rosborough, Elder Yorgason,
and Elder Blackner are going to the Frankfurt mission.
Immersion language training is certainly something else. I
feel a little more prepared in German than most of my district, but I'm
remaining humble and providing assistance where I can.
My branch presidency seem very kind and are here for us
should we ever need them. Tomorrow morning I get to teach my first Undersucher
(investigator) in the German language.
It's all been a little crazy, but I'm excited to continue my
learning.
Love,
Elder Spaulding
