Sorry family, district P Day means no time. I have you all a large amount of love. You are WONDERFUL.

Liebe Grüße,
Elder Austin Spaulding

#ImmerDa

Just in case you needed a reminder:
Romans 8: 38,39
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
There is no suffering under heaven, that the Lord cannot alleviate. #AlwaysThere

Week 85 - Life в Потсдаме Week 15 or something: Austausch? Yes please.

Whelp, you can count on Elder Spaulding to give you an excuse as to the shortness of his email. Today will be my first Zone P-Day on my mission, so I be have excitement. I may or may not follow up on that later. (Next P-Day should be district P-Day, so it may be a similar story.)

Anyway, this week was pretty good. Some highlights:

Last Monday evening, there was a surprise fireside with President Uchtdorf. It was really cool to hear him in German. I never heard him speak that much German before before,  he speaks some mean Denglisch. He posed the same question over and over, "What can we do to make a difference where we are?" I invite you to ponder that question and to try and apply it.

Tuesday we had a Street display in Brandenburg which ended up getting rained out. It wasn't super effective, but we made the most out of it and still managed to have some fun as well.

On Wednesday we had a handover appointment with a man the Leest Sisters found who lives in our area, and that went wonderfully. More on that to come. I also gave a Thema about teaching people and not lessons. And then, zum Schluss, I had Tausch with Elder Brown, one of My Zone Leaders. He is pretty young on his mission, but is a little fireball. I am very impressed with his German so far, and he is excited for the work. That made for a good day.

Friday I was then on Tausch with Elder Beutler. Due to many unforeseen circumstances, it turned into a super Tausch (we had all four elders in our district in Brandenburg), weekly planning didn't get finished, and we had to cancel our street display the next day. I can, however, give very similar praise to Elder Beutler. The man is just a baller in every sense of the word.

On Saturday we had a special dance group from BYU visit the mission, to which we were invited. They are called the Living Legends, and they are pretty dope. Because it was in of itself a cool missionary activity, we wanted it packed. So, natürlich, when it wasn't sold out, we went to help. A few hundred unsold tickets were donated to the missionaries, and the Berlin Zone went to work. Due to the craziness that arises with football games here, there was some (mis?)fortune. There was a game in Berlin between Frankfurt and Bayern, and the fans were nuts. In the Bahns this resulted in us getting all sorts of split up, and I ended up passing out tickets with Elder Beutler and Elder Neale for the next hour. That was pretty fun, though.

Well, this was less of a summary than I initially expected, aber, Naja. I hope that you all have a good one ;)

Liebe Grüße,
Elder Austin Spaulding

On a scale from 1-10, the number of days this week had was a seven. In case you were wondering.

This week was fairly run-of-the-mill, with the exception of Tuesday and Wednesday, which was a Tausch with Elder Cragun (a baller), and Wednesday.

Wednesday was День Победы (Victory Day), a day where the Russians celebrate the end of World War II and honor their dead. People walk around with pictures of their ancestors who fought/died in the war, and it is all very reverent and solemn. We (the Russian group) got to take part, which was super cool.

It was, however, pretty weird to be singing about Germany's defeat in the heart of Berlin!

I love you all, and wish you a good week!

Liebe Grüße,
Elder Austin Spaulding

Hey everybody! I, unfortunately, have little time nor energy to write, so I'll keep it brief.

Key Points:

-Tuesday we had interviews with President. Mine was 🔥💯 and I'm going to miss President Fingerle. Thankfully I'll have one more interview with him.

-Wednesday I was on Tausch with Elder Blanchard again. He's a baller.

-Saturday we had a street display full of resistance and success. We gave out, however, around 10 Books of Mormon.

-Sunday we stayed home because we were both sick. Elder Morford was much worse than I, though, and we are feeling much better today.

That'll just about do it!

I love you all, have a good one!
